On this Self-Drive Experience, you’ll get to see the diversity in terms of scenery that Portugal has to offer. Not only will you spend some time in the main cities such as Lisboa and Porto, but you'll also get the chance of admiring the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley and being surrounded by the silence and quietness of the Alentejo region.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Lisboa and Transfer to the Hotel. Explore the City in the afternoon

Upon arrival in Lisbon, our courteous drivers will personally escort you to your carefully selected hotel. Lisbon, with its historic neighborhoods like Chiado, Bairro Alto, and Alfama, along with iconic landmarks such as the Castle of Saint George, beckons you to immerse yourself in its charm. In the afternoon, embark on a delightful Walking "Foodie" Tour of Lisbon, indulging in delectable "petiscos" tastings that showcase the city's culinary delights.

Day 2 - Rental Car collection and day to explore Sintra. Fado Experience in the evening

Today marks the beginning of your self-driven adventure as you collect your rental car. Head to the enchanting town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the magical blend of historic buildings and captivating attractions awaits. Explore the Biester Palace or Monserrate Palace, stroll through the old city center, and savor the renowned "Travesseiros" pastries. As evening falls, bid a fond farewell to Lisbon with a mesmerizing Fado Night, a live musical show that encapsulates the essence of Portuguese soul.

Day 3 - Departure to Porto visiting Óbidos, Nazaré, and Coimbra along the way

Embark on a picturesque journey northward towards Porto, making captivating stops along the way. Immerse yourself in the medieval charm of Óbidos, sipping the famed Ginjinha liqueur. Witness the awe-inspiring waves of Nazaré, dine on fresh seafood, and explore the historic streets. In Coimbra, delve into the rich history of Portugal's oldest university. Day 4 - Explore the City of Porto. Visit a Port Wine Lodge and try the famous Port Wine

Day 5 - Scenic Drive to the Douro Valley. Afternoon river cruise along the Douro

Embark on a scenic drive to the mesmerizing Douro Valley, with a stop in Amarante where we suggest you some delightful convent pastries. In the afternoon, witness the breathtaking terraced vineyards that define the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Douro Valley. Conclude the day with a relaxing River Cruise along the Douro, immersing yourself in the unparalleled beauty of the landscape.

Day 6 - Departure South towards the Alentejo Region, visiting Belmonte and Marvão

Bid farewell to the northern landscapes as you journey south towards Évora. En route, discover the secrets of Belmonte, a haven for understanding the mysteries of historic Jewish communities. Pause in Marvão, perched atop high defensive rocks, providing a panoramic view of the rolling hills of the Alentejo region.

Day 7 -Visit the City of Évora. Special stargazing experience in the evening

Explore the captivating city of Évora, boasting a rich history dating back to Roman times. Wander through the old city walls, marvel at the Roman Temple, and visit the renowned Bones Chapel and Cathedral. As the afternoon unfolds, drive to the village of Monsaraz for a delightful dinner at a local restaurant, followed by an extraordinary Stargazing Experience at the Lake Alqueva Observatory.

Day 8 - Departure to Lisboa Airport and return of your rental car

On your final day, bid adieu to the picturesque Alentejo region and embark on a leisurely drive to Lisbon Airport. Safely return your rental car, cherishing the memories of your incredible journey. Have a safe and pleasant flight back home!
